Transform the massive Polar Lights 1:350 scale TOS USS Enterprise into a fully illuminated centerpiece with one of the most complete lighting and sound packages available for this model.

This signature combination kit brings together two separate TenaControls systems—the second-generation LED Bussard Fan Blade Lighting System and the Photon Torpedo and Phaser Effects System—then adds the window and interior lighting not included with either standard kit.

The result is a comprehensive lighting, weapons and sound package designed to capture the unforgettable appearance of the original starship Enterprise.

Second-Generation LED Bussard Collector Effects

Two circular microprocessor-controlled boards create the Enterprise’s iconic rotating Bussard collector effect using surface-mounted LEDs instead of mechanical motors.

One board rotates clockwise while the other rotates counterclockwise, producing the opposing nacelle animation seen on the classic Enterprise. Because the motion is created electronically, there are no spinning motors inside the nacelles and no mechanical motor noise competing with the finished display.

The lighting system offers two effect modes, allowing builders to choose the Bussard animation that best suits their preferred interpretation of the original ship.

Complete Navigation and Engine Lighting

A dedicated control board operates the ship’s supporting lighting effects, including:

• Red and green navigation lights
• White navigation lights
• White strobe lights
• Red impulse engine lighting
• Shuttle bay illumination

The navigation, strobe, impulse and shuttle bay LEDs are supplied pre-wired and color-coded to make identification and installation easier.

Window and Interior Lighting Included

Unlike the two standard TenaControls systems when purchased separately, our signature combination kit includes LED strip lighting for illuminating the Enterprise’s windows and interior.

This additional lighting helps give the entire ship a convincing inhabited appearance instead of limiting the finished model to exterior navigation and effect lighting alone.

Independent Photon Torpedo and Phaser Effects

The dedicated weapons board adds synchronized photon torpedo and phaser lighting with built-in sound.

Two independent audio systems allow you to:

• Fire the photon torpedoes by themselves
• Fire the phasers independently
• Activate both effects in succession
• Hear overlapping effects without waiting for one sound to finish

Each weapon effect has its own speaker, allowing both sounds to operate independently and even play simultaneously.

Connections to the weapons control board are made through the supplied JST 8-pin connectors, so wires do not need to be soldered directly to the control board. Wiring and soldering are still required elsewhere during installation.

Wireless Remote Control

The included wireless remote provides:

• One toggle function for turning the ship on and off
• Three momentary functions for controlling effects

The momentary channels can be used for interactive features such as operating the photon torpedoes, activating the phasers or changing the speed of the Bussard collector animation.

TenaControls systems use commercial-grade electronic components and are assembled in the USA. The complete system is backed by a five-year warranty for added peace of mind.

The included instructions also provide access to an installation video demonstrating how the system is fitted into the Polar Lights model.

Power Requirements

The system can operate from a 9-volt or compatible 12-volt DC power source.

For permanent display, many experienced builders prefer an appropriately rated external DC power supply rather than relying solely on a battery. Power adapter and display-base modifications are not included unless specifically stated.

Important Installation Information

This is an advanced electronic lighting system designed for experienced model builders. Although many LEDs are supplied pre-wired and the weapons board uses JST connectors, installation still requires model modification, wiring and soldering.

Please review the instructions and demonstration videos before ordering or arrange installation through an experienced model builder.
