Designed by TenaControls specifically for the Polar Lights 1:1000 scale Discovery Enterprise, this complete electronic lighting system recreates one of the ship’s most recognizable features: the rotating appearance of its brilliant red Bussard collectors.

Using custom LED fan-blade technology, the system creates the illusion of smooth rotational movement—with no motors or physically moving components inside the nacelles.

The result is a beautifully illuminated Enterprise with the color, motion, and screen-inspired atmosphere that turns an impressive model into the centerpiece of your collection.

The Bussard Collectors Steal the Show

Each nacelle receives its own custom-designed LED effect board:

• One clockwise Bussard fan-blade board
• One counterclockwise Bussard fan-blade board
• Smooth animated rotational appearance
• Contrasting rotation for the port and starboard nacelles
• No motors, gears, or mechanically moving components
• Blue Bussard tail illumination

The animated effect gives your Enterprise a sense of energy and movement that ordinary static lighting simply can’t reproduce.

A dedicated control board powers the ship’s additional lighting effects, including:

Power Requirements

The system operates on:

• 9V or 12V DC power
• 1-amp power adapter recommended

Installation and Builder Experience

This is an electronic lighting kit created for model builders who are comfortable installing LEDs and working with basic electronic components.

Installation requires:

• Basic soldering
• Cutting and stripping wire
• Reading wiring diagrams
• Routing wiring through the model
• Positioning and securing LEDs
• Light blocking and diffusion
• Testing lighting circuits during assembly

The Bussard boards feature color-coded wiring, while the primary control board uses an 8-pin JST connector to help keep the connections organized.

We strongly recommend reviewing the instructions and installation video before permanently assembling the model’s major sections. Planning the lighting installation early will make the project considerably easier.

This system is not preinstalled in a model and is not a completely plug-and-play consumer lighting product.

The control boards are covered by a five-year manufacturer’s warranty, subject to TenaControls’ warranty conditions. Damage caused by incorrect wiring, modification, misuse, or improper installation may not be covered.
