I've never written a book or been involved with writing one in any way. Writing a Star Trek-inspired story has been a dream of mine for years though, and I’m thrilled to finally share a glimpse of my first adventure into this incredible universe. As a lifelong fan of Star Trek, Starfleet’s rich history and the legendary characters who have shaped it, I wanted to create a story that not only honors that legacy but also introduces a new generation of heroes. Miral Paris’ journey is about stepping into that legacy — and forging her own path in the face of impossible odds. Though Miral Paris is part of established Star Trek lore, her character has never been deeply explored — which i thought made this an exciting opportunity to dive into her story and uncover who I think she really is. I’m excited to take you along for the ride as I develop this story, and I hope you’ll join me as Miral’s adventure unfolds....

Kirk to Jean-Luc Picard, Starfleet’s finest have walked its storied halls, learning the values of exploration, diplomacy, and courage. But for Miral Paris, stepping into the Academy isn’t just about following in the footsteps of those legends — it’s about carving her own path in the shadow of a powerful legacy.
Miral Paris has Starfleet in her blood. The daughter of Tom Paris and B’Elanna Torres — two officers who helped bring Voyager home from the Delta Quadrant — Miral grew up hearing stories about the adventures and dangers her parents faced among the stars. But those stories were more than just bedtime tales; they became the blueprint for Miral’s dreams. From the moment she could walk, she imagined herself wearing the crimson uniform, exploring strange new worlds, and carrying the ideals of the Federation into the future.
Now, after years of preparation, Miral has done the impossible — she’s passed the grueling Starfleet Academy entrance exam. It wasn’t easy. Every waking moment for the last year was dedicated to studying warp mechanics, command protocols, and alien diplomacy. And now, standing on the threshold of her future, Miral knows the hard part is just beginning.

She wants to make her parents proud, but more than that, she wants to prove to herself that she belongs. That she's not just the daughter of two legends — she's a capable officer in her own right. But as she navigates the challenges of life at the Academy, Miral will soon realize that living up to the Paris and Torres legacy might be the least of her worries.
Friendships, Rivalries, and Secrets
Starfleet Academy is a melting pot of species and cultures from across the Federation. Miral quickly forms a bond with Jehnani Urmdoc, a spirited and intelligent half-Klingon cadet with a sharp mind and a quick tongue. Together, they navigate the trials of Academy life — intense simulations, challenging coursework, and the ever-present pressure to succeed.
But not all of Miral’s classmates are friendly. Rivalries form quickly among the cadets, especially when it becomes clear that someone in their class isn’t what they seem. Mysterious accidents begin to occur during training exercises, systems malfunction and rumors of sabotage spread through the Academy’s corridors.
Miral begins to suspect that a dark force is working from within — one that threatens not only the cadets, but the future of Starfleet itself. With Jehnani and a small circle of trusted friends, Miral sets out to uncover the truth. But the deeper she digs, the more dangerous the mystery becomes. Could one of her fellow cadets be a traitor?
The Shadow of War
As tensions rise within the Academy, whispers of unrest grow beyond its walls. Diplomatic talks with the Klingon Empire are on shaky ground. Old rivalries and alliances are being tested. Starfleet’s leadership is wary — and for good reason.
When Miral and her friends uncover evidence that a plot is underway to destabilize the Federation, they face a choice that no cadet should have to make: follow orders and stay out of it, or risk everything to stop the coming storm.
Miral knows that standing down isn’t an option — not when the future of the Federation is at stake. But confronting the threat will force her to reckon with her own identity — not just as a Paris or a Torres, but as a Starfleet officer in her own right.
